Invited Faculty Guidelines
All invited faculty must make their own registration, housing, and travel arrangements for the conference. Registration and housing should be secured through the invited faculty registration link emailed to all speakers. Please do not register or secure housing through the general attendee registration link.
A submission site will be available for invited faculty to submit their presentation in advance of the meeting. The presentation will be tested by Freeman AV, the audio-visual provider, to make certain there are no compatibility issues. This will minimize any disruption during your presentation at the meeting. In August, you will receive an email with instructions on how to submit your presentation in advance of the meeting. Detailed information regarding presentation and AV guidelines will be posted in August 2013.
ASM requires that all presentations be evidence-based and by themselves or in conjunction with other presentations, give a balanced view of therapeutic options. Commercial, company, or product logos or watermarks are not permitted on slides and when unlabeled or investigational uses of a drug or device are discussed, they must be labeled or identified as such in your presentation. The use of generic names contributes to impartiality. If trade names are used in your presentation, you must also use the trade names of other companies’ products as well.
Please be advised that it is ASM’s policy that, while presenters are allowed to communicate with the press, their discussions may not be published until after the day and time of the actual presentation. Similarly, details of an invited presentation may not be part of an industry-sponsored symposium or other scientific event, unless scheduled after the day and time of the official ICAAC presentation. Policy is in effect until September 13, 2013.
Invited faculty are reimbursed up to a maximum of $1400 in travel expenses for individuals residing in North America and $2100 for individuals residing outside of North America. Invited faculty are reimbursed at the above rates regardless of their number of roles at ICAAC.
ASM will honor expenses for travel (coach airfare, mileage to/from airport or personal vehicle usage in lieu of airfare, tolls and parking, taxi or shuttle fees), hotel (room and tax only), food (actual expenses as ASM does not set a per diem amount), and gratuities. Please make sure to save all itemized receipts. Please note that a copy of a charge slip is not considered adequate documentation for meals. The receipt detailing the food and beverage purchases is the correct receipt. ASM cannot reimburse for expenses without an itemized receipt. A reimbursement form will be emailed to you after the conclusion of the meeting.
Invited speakers are requested by the ICAAC Program Committee to provide a short abstract (approximately 150 words) of their presentation for inclusion in the Abstract CD-ROM. For instructions on submitting an abstract please reference your letter of invitation.
As part of the educational mission of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), arrangements have been made for recording and producing Internet-based versions of speakers' presentations delivered at the ICAAC 2013 to be held September 10-13, 2013, in Denver, CO. Speaker presentations will be made available for online access sale to ICAAC attendees, ASM members and non-members. For instructions on indicating your recording consent please reference your letter of invitation.
