This session is designed to provide a state-of-the-art review of key major advances in the field of HIV/AIDS epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment and prevention and their implications for current HIV-infected populations as well as other infectious diseases, highlighting where the field has been, is currently and what directions it will take in the future. The session is directed to clinicians and scientists interested in the HIV/AIDS and related complications and opportunistic diseases. It is assumed that participants will be familiar with basic aspects of HIV/AIDS and current tools available for management.
